Bullying is “behaviour by an individual or group, repeated over time, that intentionally hurts another individual or group either physically or emotionally”.
It can include cyber-bullying (via text messages, social media or gaming) and can be motivated by prejudice against particular groups.
Bullying and cyber-bullying are both forms of peer-on-peer abuse.
If you’re worried about a child, speak to the school’s DSL (or a deputy DSL) and follow the school or college’s procedures for reporting safeguarding concerns.
